OUR PROGRAMS

Come learn and play field hockey in a fun, supportive environment! This program offers a fantastic opportunity to develop skills, make new friends, and have a blast on the field. Over the course of six 1-hour sessions, participants will be introduced to the basics of field hockey through fun drills and games that focus on teamwork, sportsmanship, and developing key skills like dribbling, passing, and shooting.

At the end of the program, all Learn and Play locations will come together for an exciting 1-hour festival, celebrating everything we’ve learned and enjoyed throughout the sessions. It’s a great way to show off your new skills and cheer on your fellow players!

Program Includes:

  • Six 1-hour sessions of instruction and play
  • A fun and friendly festival to celebrate field hockey with other locations
  • A program t-shirt to wear during your sessions and the festival

Equipment: Players will need a field hockey stick, shin guards, and a mouth guard.

High School Summer League is an exciting opportunity for 9th-12th grade players to improve their skills, stay active, and compete in a fun, team-oriented environment! This league is open to all high school players, regardless of experience level, and offers a great way to stay sharp over the summer months and be ready for the fall season.

Each session will be divided into three parts:

  • 15-minute warm-up: Get your body ready with dynamic exercises to prevent injury and enhance performance.
  • 15-minute skill session: Focus on key field hockey skills such as dribbling, passing, shooting, and game strategy.
  • 1 hour of play: Put your skills into action with exciting games

Our Summer Field Hockey Program for students in 6th-8th grade is designed to help athletes enhance their skills, learn new techniques, and have a blast in a team-oriented environment. Over six 75-minute sessions, players will focus on key aspects of the game such as advanced dribbling, passing, shooting, and game strategy. Whether you’re new to the sport or looking to refine your skills, this program is perfect for all levels.

At the end of the program, we’ll come together for an exciting 1-hour festival where all summer field hockey locations unite to celebrate the game, showcase what we’ve learned, and enjoy friendly competition. It’s a great opportunity to meet new friends and experience the energy of the sport in a fun and supportive atmosphere.

  • A program t-shirt to wear during your sessions and the festival

Elevate your goalkeeping skills with expert guidance from Goalkeeper Coach, Maggie Olson, at this specialized clinic designed for middle and high school goalkeepers. In session, you’ll receive personalized coaching and practical tips to enhance your techniques and game performance.

We will be offering small group sessions for middle school and high school players to help refine their field hockey skills and take their game to the next level. 

  • Group Size: Small group sessions with an 8:1 player-to-coach ratio
  • Focus Areas:
    • Stick-handling technique and control
    • Ball manipulation and agility
    • Small-sided games to apply techniques in game situations

GLRFH specialized clinics offer focused development for athletes and an opportunity to work with new, talented coaches. Clinic participation requires a pinnie, which is available for purchase at registration.
