Why Great Lakes Regional Field Hockey
We strive to make the sport of field hockey as strong as it can be. Whether acting as a conduit for information to key stakeholders, an advocate for programs, or contributing financial support for visionary change and growth, we are here to provide infrastructure and guidance.
Great Lakes Regional Field Hockey (GLRFH) is a non-profit organization, established in 2019 to serve and support the growth of field hockey at the local level.
We believe in the long-lasting health benefits of sport for participants of all ages, especially young children.
We believe that field hockey is a sport for everybody and strive to reach underserved communities and underrepresented populations.
Join us as we work to broaden the playing field through our grass roots growth model.
By providing a network for thriving field hockey communities, GLRFH will serve as a springboard for all participants to enjoy good physical and emotional health, and benefit from the character-building attributes that are inherent in sports.
At a local level, participants will experience a united sense of belonging to last a lifetime.
Our growth model targets inequities as we work in communities to remove barriers and provide more access and opportunity for all who want to play.
Core Values

Mission

Letter from the Director
We are excited to share our year’s accomplishments with you. Our leaders have done a fantastic job of partnering with youth organizations around the region which is fostering the continued growth of our sport.
We are proud of what we learned and accomplished in our first five years. We have seen multiple new programs grow and have highlighted local community leaders to continue to champion the sport in their areas. The addition of field hockey as a MHSAA sanctioned sport and the new collegiate program at John Carroll University are both important signs of growth for the region. These are great steps towards our target list of key outcomes that we hope to see by 2030.
As we look forward to 2025, our focus is on raising the rest of the funds for our Field Hockey First Fundraising Campaign and breaking ground on our non-fill field hockey field. Thank you for your support!
